To settle a question of "are hot dogs sandwiches?" proportions, country superstar Carrie Underwood took to Twitter to settle a burning debate with her husband, former Nashville Predators player Mike Fisher.

"Having an important debate tonight w/the hubby," Underwood wrote in a Tweet which doubled as a survey. "We need your help. Question: are donuts breakfast or dessert? I say breakfast and only breakfast. Mike says they're never breakfast and only allowed as dessert. What do you think?"
The results weren't even close, with Underwood's opinion that donuts are a breakfast staple getting 78.9 percent of the 95,557 total votes.

Underwood responded to her victory with an "in your face" taunt directed at her husband and a string of donut emojis.
So there you have it. An American Idol winner turned country music star eats donuts for breakfast and plays the Dunkin' Donuts Center in the evening whenever her tour dates include a stop in Providence, R.I., and that's the natural order of things according to her social media followers.

Fisher's public defeat follows a weekend getaway during which Underwood caught a much bigger fish during the couple's fly-fishing expedition. At least Fisher didn't catch himself, much like Thomas Rhett.
Underwood has more planned for the remainder of 2020 than crowdsourced martial debates. Her first Christmas album, My Gift, comes out on Sept. 25, 2020.
"I've always wanted to make a Christmas album and it's been a long time coming," Underwood says in a press release. "I knew this would be my next music project after wrapping my tour last year, and I think it's turned out to be the perfect time for an album like this, in this period of such personal and spiritual reflection. For me, it's more important than ever to focus on the true meaning of Christmas in a project like this. Even though it has been a tough year for all of us, sometimes I feel like the greatest realizations can be inspired by the most difficult times, and make us more grateful for the things we do have and for what truly matters."
