The Tweet adds that Marlene's from Montclair, Cal., and she "waits all week for Sunday Night Football - it's the highlight of her week!"
Sunday Night Football's weekly opening segment shows Underwood belting out a new recording of the show's theme, interspersed with cameos by such NFL superstars as Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes.
Country music versions of "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" date back to the 2007 NFL season, when Underwood's fellow Nashville star Faith Hill took over P!nk's spot as SNF's musical spokesperson. In her eight years as singer of SNF's theme, Underwood's sung "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night," a version of her Miranda Lambert duet "Somethin' Bad" retitled "Oh, Sunday Night" and the shorter-lived "Game On."

"We are excited about this year's new collaboration with Carrie, including scenes in the recording studio and look forward to uniquely incorporating the game's great fans," says Tripp Dixon, creative director of SNF's current opening video, in a press release.
Sunday Night Football has been primetime television's No. 1 rated program for nine consecutive years.
Barring any postponements, the remaining SNF schedule includes the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Buffalo Bills (12/13) and the Tennessee Titans at the Green Bay Packers (12/27).
