Carrie Underwood is returning to American Idol, the competition that first made her a star when she won it in 2005. This time, she's there to coach the final five, including promising young country singer Caleb Lee Hutchinson.

The remaining contestants--including Gabby Barrett, Maddie Poppe, Michael J. Woodard and Texas' own Cade Foehner--are in Nashville this week, working with Underwood as they prepare for their live television performances this Sun., May 13 on ABC.
It's the latest Nashville encounter for the contestants. To get this far, they were selected by a panel of judges including Luke Bryan. Prior guests on the current season included Cam, Sugarland, Bobby Bones and another former Idol winner, Scotty McCreery.

Underwood will also appear on Sunday's broadcast, performing her new single "Cry Pretty." It's the debut single and title track off her next album, out Sept. 14.
A week after Underwood's guest appearance, the final three contestants will vie for first place with a live May 20 performance finale and a May 21 grand finale.
