Fixer Upper star Chip Gaines has been hit with a $1 million lawsuit by two former business partners. John L. Lewis and Richard L. Clark have sued Gaines, his company, Magnolia Realty, and HGTV over accusations of fraud.

According to the Waco Tribune-Herald, the two claim that Chip forced them to take buyouts, eliminated them from the company. This allegedly happened after Gaines had signed a deal with HGTV to begin shooting Fixer Upper. Lewis and Clark say that Chip withheld that information in order to gain more profit from the show's impending success.
Waco attorney Jordan Mayfield says that there is no credibility to the suit. "We just received a copy of the petition and haven't had a chance to study it in detail," Mayfield told the Waco Tribune-Herald. "But we are generally aware of the story that Mr. Lewis and Mr. Clark are telling. We are confident that these claims will be found to be meritless, and it is disappointing to see people try to take advantage of the hard work and success of Chip and Joanna Gaines."
