Chris Stapleton and Emmylou Harris teamed up to remember the late Tom Petty by performing a heartfelt rendition of his song "Wildflowers."

The title track of Petty's second solo album, the song took on new meaning as the two country stars tipped their cap to the rock legend who passed away on Oct. 2 at the age of 66. Stapleton has been vocal about the influence Wildflowers had on him as both an artist and a music fan.

"My favorite record of all time is Tom Petty's 'Wildflowers,'" he told Rolling Stone in 2015. "I hold it as the standard - in terms of sonics, sequencing, and songs. It shows that making a complete record is important, rather than just making a single."

The performance introduced the "In Memoriam" section of the ceremony, which honors those in the music industry who passed away in 2017. Other performers during the 2018 Grammys included Little Big Town and a moving tribute to the Las Vegas shooting victims from Eric Church, Maren Morris and Brothers Osborne.
