Texas-based country artist Cody Jinks has released yet another stellar song from the highly anticipated forthcoming album Lifers. With "Somewhere Between I Love You And I'm Leavin'," he slows the pace and delivers a scorching slow burner ballad. Built around the high and lonesome warble of the pedal steel and his rich whiskey-soaked baritone, Jinks' "Somewhere Between I Love You And I'm Leavin'" is a page right out of the classic country jukebox heartbreak playbook.

Written with fellow country-rock traditionalist Whitey Morgan, "Somewhere Between I Love You And I'm Leavin'" finds Jinks in a no man's land of sorts. He can't quite find where he's more comfortable—home or on the road. One thing's for certain though; he feels lonesome and alone in both settings.

Lines such as "and it scares me so when I look hard, I'll find no good reasons" and the brazenly direct "nowhere is home" have a sobering effect. They shake you to your core with their brutally honest approach. And as you'd expect, Jinks' vocals hit just right with a somber and restless approach.

It follows other new songs like the rowdy whiskey-toasting "Must Be the Whiskey" and the rambling hard worker homage title track. Lifers, the follow-up to 2016's I'm Not the Devil, is shaping up to be one of the year's best efforts and possibly capturing Jinks at the very top of his game.

Lifers' release date is July 27 and will be released via Rounder Records. Pre-order Lifers here. In addition, Jinks will host the inaugural Loud and Heavy Fest on August 18 in his hometown of Fort Worth. The lineup features Jinks, Morgan, Whiskey Myers, Corrosion of Conformity, Nikki Lane, Colter Wall, Paul Cauthen, The Sword, Ward Davis and Sunny Sweeney.

'Somewhere Between I Love You And I'm Leavin'' Lyrics

I'm somewhere between I love you and I'm leavin'
Somewhere between I need you and letting go
And it scares me so when I look hard I'll find no good reasons
I'm somewhere between I love you and I'm leavin'

Somewhere between I miss you and I'm gone
runnin' hard through the middle of the night
and you spend yours alone
I hold you close then I let you go
no leaving well enough alone
I'm somewhere between I miss you and I'm gone

And the ties that bind, they may hold my mind
No matter where I go, I'm alone
Here with you or out there tearing down some road
Nowhere is home
And you're the only thing on earth that I believe in
I'm somewhere between I love you and I'm leavin'

And the ties that bind, they may hold my mind
No matter where I go, I'm alone
Here with you or out there tearing down some road
Nowhere is home
And you're the only thing on earth that I believe in
I can stay or I can go and not break even

I'm somewhere between I love you and I'm leavin'
I'm somewhere between I love you and I'm leavin'
