Copycat Chick-fil-A Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce Pairs Perfectly with Tenders

Fried chicken tenders are great, but do you want to know what makes them even better? Sauces! While I normally grab a bottle of ranch or buffalo sauce to dip my air-fried chicken tenders in, I like to dress up my tenders every once in a while with this copycat Chick-Fil-A Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce. Sweet, smoky, and perfect with tenders or waffle fries, Chick-Fil-A's Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce is an underrated favorite.

Available even on Sundays, this copycat sauce recipe brings the fast food chain to my own kitchen without going to the drive-thru or paying exorbitant amounts to have it delivered. Made with only 4 ingredients (you probably already have on hand), this sauce takes less time to put together than pre-heating your air fryer.

The Difference Between The Sauces

Side-by-side both sauces may look alike, however, there is one noticeable difference between the two once you taste them. While Chick-Fil-A sauce does contain honey and BBQ sauce, the thing that really sets them apart is the smokiness and strong honey flavor in the Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce. To make sure your copycat sauce is close to the real deal, use a smoky bbq sauce such as Lillie's Q Smoky Barbeque Sauce. The smokiness is crucial to this recipe, otherwise, it'll taste just like copycat Chick-Fil-A sauce.

How to Make Copycat Chick-fil-A Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce

In a small bowl combine the bbq sauce, mayo, honey, and mustard. This sauce can be used immediately or stored in the refrigerator for up to a week, but once you have a taste, there's no way you'll need to store leftovers! Serve with fried tenders as well as grilled chicken, in wraps, or as a dipping sauce for onion rings.
