On the evening of October 1, 2017, thousands of country fans were gathered in Las Vegas for the third night of the Route 91 Harvest Festival when a gunman took the lives of 58 people and injured over 800. One year after the attack, country artists remember the Route 91 family and the lives that were lost that night.

Jason Aldean was performing at the country festival when a gunman opened fire into the crowd from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. In the months since the shooting, the singer has visited with survivors and payed tribute to those who lost their lives.

Jake Owen had taken the stage right before Jason Aldean on the third night of the festival. The singer remembers the victims of the tragedy, writing "You will always be in my heart and on my mind."

Maren Morris shared lyrics from her song "Dear Hate," which she released shortly after the Route 91 shooting. All proceeds from the song go to the Nashville Music City Cares Fund, which benefits shooting victims and their families.

Chris Young, who attended Route 91 that night, remembered the fear he felt that night and reflected on the victims and their families. "I will never forget the loss that so many had to suffer through that day and all the days since," Young wrote.

Many country artists, fans and those within the country music industry took part in a 58 second moment of silence on October 1, 2018 in remembrance of Route 91 victims and their families. At 12:05 CST, all country radio stations in Nevada went silent for 58 seconds. Several stations across the U.S. also took part.
