Greer passed away on July 10 in a tubing accident while wearing a life jacket. After his tube collided with his friend's boat, Greer went under the water and disappeared. His body was recovered the next day.
Tuesday would have been Greer's 20th birthday, a day that was undoubtedly difficult for Morgan. The "I'll Be Home Soon" singer took to Facebook to celebrate his son's 19 years with a beautiful post.
"Happy Birthday son," Morgan wrote. "Because He lives we will see you again. Deuteronomy 15:10 thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the Lord thy God will bless the in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto."
Like they have so many times, Morgan's fans supplied an outpouring of support for the singer. His post garnered nearly 800 comments and over 21,000 responses. Along with the post, he also shared photos of himself with Greer, including a snapshot of the pair on the field at a Titans game. Morgan also shared some personal family moments including Greer's graduation from Dickson County High School and photos of his son playing football.
Following Greer's devastating death last year, Morgan stepped away from the spotlight. After taking time to grieve, he wanted his fans to know how appreciative he was for their support. To thank them, he opened up in a Facebook live stream.
"I wanted to personally get on here and tell all of you thank you so much for your kind words and your support, it's been amazing," he said during the stream. "We've gotten letters and emails and Facebook posts and all kinds of stuff, so we want to say thank you. This is from my family. Thank you so much."
