Calling all wannabe rock stars—October 31st is the perfect excuse to cosplay as a member of Daisy Jones & the Six.
Videos by Wide Open Country
Everyone's favorite fictional rock band of the 70s took the world by storm earlier this year when Amazon Prime Video brought them to life in the limited series. Based on Taylor Jenkins Reid's 2019 book of the same name, the musical drama follows the meteoric rise of an obscure band that abruptly (and mysteriously) left the spotlight almost as quickly as they appeared. Years later, they're finally ready to peel back the curtain and tell the world what really happened.
It's no secret that the band and the book are loosely based on Fleetwood Mac. Jenkins has said that she was inspired by listening to a lot of their music and reading about the band's 1977 fallout. While we may have watched the miniseries for the drama, we stayed for the retro style that had everyone scouring vintage stores and thrift shops for the ultimate 70s pieces.
The crochet tops, fur-collared coats, and cooler-than-cool aviators sparked such a desire to re-create the show's looks that Amazon actually set up a storefront to let you do just that. So if you want to get your 70s style on this Halloween, give one of these Daisy Jones & the Six looks a try.
Daisy Jones
Who doesn't want to pretend to be the enigmatic lead singer of Daisy Jones & The Six? With her wild mane of wavy hair and signature flare, Daisy (Riley Keough) is a bohemian style icon with tons of looks to choose from.
You can bundle up in a big fur coat like the one she wears during rehearsal or get ready to take center stage in one of her iconic flowy kimonos. Throw on a pair of vintage-style aviators and crimp your locks, and you'll be channeling Daisy's effortless rock star 'tude in no time.
Billy Dunne
The charismatic frontman of The Six has his own unique style that can easily be emulated with a little bit of effort. Everything about Billy (Sam Claflin) says he's the star of the show, so you'll need to find pieces that ooze confidence and cool, like a perfectly worn-in flannel shirt or a classic leather jacket.
Top it all off with his signature aviators, you'll be ready to take on the role of Daisy's musical counterpart. No costume is complete without Billy's guitar either, so don't forget to throw one over your shoulder for extra authenticity.
Camila Dunne
As the "mother" of the group and Billy's wife, Camila (Camila Morrone) has a slightly more demure look than the bandmates. But that doesn't mean her artsy and oh-so-classic 70s vibe isn't easy to replicate.
To get Camila's look, go for those ultra-flowy maxi dresses with floral or paisley prints. Bonus points if you can find one with billowy sleeve details. Keep your hair sleek and parted in the middle to really drive home the bohemian vibe, and don't forget to throw a camera around your neck to channel her photography aspirations.
Karen Sirko
Karen (Suki Waterhouse) may be the keyboard-playing powerhouse of The Six, but you can still capture her saucy style without any musical knowledge. She emulates a different 70s charm with darker, moodier shades and statement pieces that she hoped would keep people from judging her based on her gender—not her talent.
Begin your costume with a Karen classic: the dark turtleneck. Add it to a pair of high-waisted black flared bottoms and some statement silver jewelry, and you're ready to join the band.
Warren Rhodes
Probably the most easily recognizable hairdo in the band, drummer Warren (Sebastian Chacon) brings a fun-loving energy to everything he wears. Recreate his rocker style by layering the most colorful, patterned pieces you can find. Think embroidered shirts, velvet pants, and patchwork vests.
Finish off the look with a fur coat (because who would ever say no to that?) and grab a set of matching drumsticks for bonus points. So long as you've got his black curly wig and mustache, you'll be ready to rock.
Simone Jackson
If you're a fan of 70s fringe, then you'll love dressing up as Simone (Nabiyah Be), Daisy's closest friend and confidant who pushes her to shine. Recreating the absolute killer outfit she wears while performing at a club is as easy as finding a burnt orange fringe vest, a mini skirt, and some chunky, heeled boots.
Top off the look with some silver jewelry and an arm cuff, and you'll be ready to rock it old-school style like Simone.
Rod
This is a weird one, but hear us out. Timothy Olyphant's character may only appear in a few episodes, but his shaggy 70s wig paired with some aviators—who wasn't wearing a pair back then—and a robe makes for an easy costume. Even if it's one that only die-hard fans will get.
