The band, made up of Rucker, Dean Felber, Jim Sonefeld and Mark Bryan, announced their return on Dec. 3 on Today

"For us, making a record is fun. But we're not doing it for us," Rucker said on Today. "We're doing it for those people who used to plan vacations their vacations around the Hootie and the Blowfish tour.

The 2019 Group Therapy Tour will kick off on May 30 in Virginia Beach, Virginia and will run throughout the summer.

If that's not enough '90s nostalgia for you, fellow rockers Barenaked Ladies will join the band on tour.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Dec. 7.

Hootie and the Blowfish formed in 1986 and released their mainstream debut album Cracked Rear View in 1994. The album was a smash success, spawning four hits, "Hold My Hand," "Let Her Cry," "Only Wanna Be With You" and "Time." In 1998, the band announced they'd be going on hiatus so Rucker could focus on his career in country music.

Rucker released his debut country album, Learn to Live, in 2008. His most recent album, When Was the Last Time, was released last year.
