Darius Rucker knows how to pick the perfect country music cover song. For his 2017 record When Was The Last Time, Rucker decided to create his own version of Drivin' N Cryin's "Straight to Hell," from the band's 1989 album Mystery Road. Though on paper it didn't seem like an obvious choice to make for a follow-up to his single "For The First Time," after hearing the first few measures of the song, Rucker's vision becomes clear.

"That was our jam. That wasn't just our big party song on the bus, it was in the van, when we were home, and at every bar we went to," Rucker told CMT.com. "I always thought, 'I'm surprised that no country guy has ever cut that song, because it's just a great country song.'"

In order to bring the Drivin' N Cryin' song new life, Rucker grabbed country stars Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum to form a supergroup he calls The Troublemakers.

About a month ago, Rucker posted a photo on social media of the four men hanging out in Prohibition-era garb, and the news of the upcoming music video quickly spread. Now, fans are able to see the full old-timey vision for the track, directed by TK McKamy. The Troublemakers are filmed shooting the breeze at the bar, lifting up their beers in revelry, playing cards and evading the law.

The set for the music video must have seen non-stop merriment, just like the group's closing performance at this year's CMT Music Awards in Nashville. Rucker, Aldean, Bryan and Kelley all have a mischievous look in their eyes and an undeniable bond that makes for one heck of a singalong.

Rucker followed up his CMT Music Awards performance with a great set at CMA Fest. Fans can catch him on the road starting June 23 in Greeley, Colorado.
