Dark Chocolate BBQ Sauce
Savory with a hint of spice, this Dark Chocolate BBQ Sauce goes great with pork ribs and pulled beef brisket. Such a fun flavor!
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 Tbsp chili powder
- 1 Tbsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp dark cocoa powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup coffee
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 Tbsp yellow mustard
Instructions
- In a large saucepan add the canola oil and heat over medium. Add in the onion and garlic cloves and cook until softened.
- Add in the chili powder, cinnamon, cocoa powder, paprika, tomato sauce, brown sugar, coffee, red tine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, molasses and yellow mustard. Bring to a simmer and cook until sauce is thickened, about 25 minutes.
Notes
This sauce can be refrigerated for up to two weeks.
Serve this sauce on pulled pork or brisket.
