Winter is rapidly approaching, which unfortunately means your heating bill is about to go up. Many of us try to avoid turning on our heater to dodge additional cost, leaving us bundled up with blankets and multiple layers to keep away the cold. Now, there's an easy and cost-effective way of heating up your home that only takes a few simple steps to create.
All you'll need to start your project is a 6-inch terracotta flower pot and base, a 5-inch terracotta pot, a chain link, some nuts and a few candles. The video above from DIY master Ben Galt shows you each step used to create this stylish heat lamp.
Once you've completed your project, make sure it's placed on a stable setting away from furniture and flammable objects. Because of its size, the lamp will only be able to heat one room at a time, so keep that in mind when deciding its placement. If you don't need a permanent source of heat, keep this lamp handy for the next big snowstorm or severe weather event. That way, you'll stay warm and cozy the next time your power goes out during winter. It's always good to have something handy like this around your house.
