According to the Hollywood Reporter, Parton's Dixie Pixie Productions will produce multiple made-for-television films that based around some of the country star's biggest hit songs.
"As a songwriter, I have always enjoyed telling stories through my music. I am thrilled to be bringing some of my favorite songs to life with Netflix," Parton said in a statement. "We hope our show will inspire and entertain families and folks of all generations, and I want to thank the good folks at Netflix and Warner Bros. TV for their incredible support."

These new films will follow in success of her successful TV movies, 2015's Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors and 2016's Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.
Both films earned record ratings numbers for NBC. The network's entertainment chief, Bob Greenblatt, also produced the popular Broadway musical version of Parton's hit film 9 to 5.
Earlier this year, it was announced that 9 to 5 would get a reboot featuring the original film's stars, Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. At the time, 20th Century Fox was pursing Rashida Jones to help write the new version, inspired by the #MeToo movement.
In 2015, NBC began work on a project around Dolly Parton's hit song "Jolene." That project never moved out of the development stages. It's unclear if that concept will now be a part of this new Netflix project.
The premiere date for Parton's Netflix anthology series has not yet been announced.
