Country star Eric Church is gearing up to release brand new music. In a message livestreamed this morning (July 12), the North Carolina native shared two big pieces of news with his fans.
"It's been a while; I just want to say I have missed you," Church stated in the video above. "I have good news...the album is done, and we are back."
The record is called Desperate Man and is set for release on Oct. 5. Just like his his 2015 record Mr. Misunderstood, Church's fan club, The Church Choir, will have access to the album before anyone else. Church Choir members can also listen to the title track of Desperate Man by logging into their accounts beginning today.
If you aren't a fan club member, you'll be able to hear Church's new song when its officially released on Friday, July 12. Produced by with producer Jay Joyce, "Desperate Man" was co-written with Texas music icon Ray Wylie Hubbard, who Church namechecked in his hit single "Mr. Misunderstood."
New single "Desperate Man" will be his first new single since "Round Here Buzz," which made it to No. 2 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart. Last year, he released 61 Days in Church, a live album featuring recordings from his massively popular Holdin' My Own Tour.

Fans can also expect new tour dates to be announced in the months ahead. "I look forward to seeing you on the road," he told fans. "I'm very proud of this album."
Earlier this week, Church performed a moving tribute to his brother, Brandon, who recently passed away.
