Funfetti Brownies

This tweak on a boxed cake mix opens up the possibilities of what a cake mix can do. The prep time is only about 5 minutes and the total time until you can enjoy fresh, yummy brownies is 30 minutes. If you're using a vanilla or yellow cake mix, you could technically call these blondies instead of brownies. Or, you could call them cake brownies. It doesn't really matter what you call them, as long as you devour them.

The first thing you'll need to do is preheat the oven to 350 degrees. While the oven is preheating, gather together your ingredients. The most important part is the cake mix. You can use any cake mix you like. Betty Crocker makes a confetti cake mix that works perfectly. The 5 extra ingredients you'll need are 1/4 cup oil, large eggs, milk, and rainbow sprinkles.

In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 1/4 cup vegetable oil or canola oil, 1 room temperature egg, and 1/3 cup milk. Mix together until it's combined into a cake batter. Once mixed, add the sprinkles. At this point, you can hack this recipe based on your own preferences. Some recipes call for the addition of white chocolate chips or vanilla extract to amp up the vanilla flavor. You could add cocoa powder if you want these to taste and look more chocolate-y. If you are a peanut butter lover, go ahead and mix some in.

We suggest using a 11X9 inch baking pan to get ooey-gooey, fudgy brownies. If you want more cake-like brownies, you can use a larger pan. Make sure to grease your 11X9 inch pan with cooking spray before spreading out the batter. Bake for around 25-30 minutes. If you're unsure if they are done, insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean, they are cooked. Once cooled, you can cut, serve, and enjoy.

It's no secret that brownies are not the healthiest of foods. These brownies have about 170 calories, 25g carbohydrates, and 19mg cholesterol. If you share them, the calories don't count, right?
