Allie frequently uses social media to share videos of her song covers, ranging from country to pop. This time around, she covered her father's hit "She's Every Woman," and we have a feeling he's very proud.
In this vintage-style black and white video, Allie covers the song with only her beautiful voice and an acoustic guitar. "Honestly might be the most well-written song to ever bless myself," she wrote sweetly in the video's caption. That's quite a compliment to her dad, since he's one of the songs co-writers.
Allie's vocals flow out effortlessly throughout the video. Her voice, although soft, is incredibly impressive. Her take on the song has more of a folk sound than her father's, whose version is strictly classic country. It's unique, but it has us waiting to hear more of her "lyrical secrets," as she calls them.
"She's Every Woman" was a single from her dad back in 1995. It was the very first single from his album Fresh Horses and it was a huge hit for him. Brooks sang it all the way to the top of the charts, it was a No. 1 in both the U.S. and Canada.
Allie's music Facebook page has over 15,000 likes and features covers of songs from Randy Travis, Kacey Musgraves and more. You'll also find plenty of originals from the 20-year-old talent. So far, this particular cover seems to be a fan favorite. She's gotten 279,000-plus views (and counting) in since she shared the video in January and a ton of positive comments from viewers. "You absolutely nailed this cover!" one fan wrote. Another told her she was "singing from the heart."
