Garth Brooks has stayed busy this fall, between promoting his new album Time Traveler and prepping for the Black Friday grand opening of his Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk. He'll stay fueled up for both efforts this weekend because of one of Trisha Yearwood's post-Thanksgiving specialties.

Brooks told Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts that after Yearwood's usual "phenomenal" family feast, the Trisha's Southern Kitchen star "does that casserole where she takes everything in layers that's leftover, and then puts a biscuit on top of it, sticks it in the oven and that biscuit rises."
Time Traveler entered our timeline earlier this month as part of the third and final The Limited Series box set. he seven-disc collection includes the new album plus the rest of Brooks' output from the past decade: 2014's Man Against Machine, 2016's Gunslinger, 2019's three-disc Triple Live compilation and 2020's Fun. It's available online and in stores exclusively through Bass Pro Shop.
Brooks told Roberts that the title Time Traveler suits the album because its influences span country music history.
"I love country music," Brooks said. "And this sincerity weaves through all the decades of country music, but at the same time, just got some traditional sounds in there and some modern sounds... I really liked it."
The Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk will be the latest artist branded and themed bar to open on Lower Broadway in Nashville. It'll open its doors on Black Friday (Nov. 24) with a Brooks concert.
Amazon's Prime Video streaming service will air the event as its first-ever Black Friday Amazon Music Live (AML) special. Twitch will also stream the broadcast, which begins at 7 p.m. ET. It's part of a double-header with the first Black Friday game in NFL history, which pits the Miami Dolphins against the New York Jets.
"Amazon Music Live and Garth Brooks are coming together for Black Friday after the game to livestream a special 'Dive Bar' concert from the grand opening of the Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk in Nashville," Brooks shared in a statement. "We've already seen over 3 million entries to win a chance to attend, and thanks to our friends at Amazon, this episode will ensure that everybody who wants to see this show can. Not only will the people see the Friends bar for the first time, but they will also hear new music live for the first time...and if you know us, we will be playing the old stuff, as well."
Per Billboard, "Viewers will have free access to Amazon Music Live, including viewers without an Amazon account or a Prime membership."
