Amid preparation for the opening of his downtown Nashville restaurant and bar as well as his and Trisha Yearwood's work with Habitat for Humanity, Garth Brooks has been putting the finishing touches on Time Traveler, the 14th album of his storied career.

The 10-song collection will debut as part of "The Limited Series," a seven-disc box set also including the rest of his output over the last decade: 2014's "Man Against Machine," 2016's "Gunslinger," 2019's three-disc "Triple Live" compilation and 2020's "Fun." It's the third and final "The Limited Series" release, following volumes issued in 1998 and 2005.
According to Brooks, the title "Time Traveler" fits because the songs span a lengthy timeline of influences and sounds.
"Country music's core is sincerity, after that, you can dress it up a thousand different ways," he shared (as quoted by the Tennesseean). "I am so lucky to live under the flag of country music."
Here's the catch: the box set will only be sold by Bass Pro Shops beginning on Nov. 7. Online preorders are available now and will ship in mid-November.
Bass Pro Shops snuck a joke into its online listing, promoting the CD set as proof that "we have friends in 'fowl' places."
The arrangement with Bass Pro Shops is reminiscent of Brooks' 1994 deal with McDonald's. Back then, Brooks' first greatest hits compilation, The Garth Brooks Collection, was available on CD and cassette through the fast food chain. McDonald's also sold titles by Elton John, Tina Turner and Roxette, with $1 from each sale benefitting Ronald McDonald Children's Charities. At a time when Garth mania was running wild, The Garth Brooks Collection sold over 3 million copies. That's a puny sales figure compared to the more widely-available The Hits, which came out three months later and moved over 10 million units.
