The Houston Astros took home the World Series championship during Game 6 on Saturday, Nov. 5, and country legend and Texas native George Strait was in attendance. Not only did he get to see the Astros win at Houston's Minute Maid Park, but he took the field to officially kick off the game.

Multiple videos shared on social media showed Strait and his family at the stadium, and in one posted by the Astros' Twitter account, Strait gives the famous "Play Ball!" call, giving the players notice to officially begin the game.
The singer also enjoyed other moments with his family on the field, according to KHOU-11. He chatted with Hall of Famer Craig Biggio, as well as Astros' manager Dusty Baker and pitcher Lance McCullers Jr., receiving autographs from the latter two. He also reportedly chatted with fans and signed an autograph for one fan before sitting in the Astros' dugout.
Strait isn't the only country star who has gotten in on the World Series fun this year. Tim McGraw attended Game 5 of the World Series on Nov. 1, cheering for the opposing team: the Philadelphia Phillies. The singer was seen having fun in the stands with his family, and he even sported the jersey of his dad, Tug McGraw, who pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies and helped lead the team to winning the 1980 World Series championship.
Strait is no doubt gearing up for a busy 2023, as he recently announced his six-date Stadium Tour next summer. He will visit Arizona, Wisconsin, Washington, Colorado, Tennessee and Florida over the course of six shows with openers Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town. Strait has four more shows on his calendar for the remainder of 2022. He will visit Forth Worth, Tex. on Nov. 18 and 19 with opener Tenille Townes, and he'll play back-to-back shows in Las Vegas on Dec. 2 and 3 with opener Caitlyn Smith.
