'King'-Size George Strait Mural Unveiled in Texas

Every Texas legend deserves a mural. Willie has one. Selena has one. Now it's King George's turn. Artist Matt Tumlinson, a member of the San Antonio Street Artist collective, has created a majestic work of art in tribute to the King of Country, George Strait.

Strait is depicted as he is in our hearts -- true country royalty. The singer is dressed as a nobleman in a crown, cape and (Texas-shaped) jewels. (Don't worry, the cowboy hat still remains intact.)

If you're already plotting how to get a picture with Texas music monarch, you can find the mural at North St. Mary's Street in San Antonio. Strait was raised in Pearsall, Texas, located about an hour outside of San Antonio.

"Had an awesome time painting on the home turf! Here's south Texas native and country legend 'King George'- N. St. Mary's, San Antonio Texas 2019. Great group of people doing great thing in this one of a kind city," Tumlinson wrote on Instagram.

Strait released his album Honky Tonk Time Machine last week (March 29). The album features Strait's duet with Willie Nelson, "Sing One With Willie."

The singer recently announced a show at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. with Blake Shelton, Cody Johnson and Caitlyn Smith.

The country legend will perform with Miranda Lambert on the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards, which airs on Sunday, April 7 on CBS.
