Gingerbread French Toast
Turn your breakfast into a festive affair with this Gingerbread French Toast. This breakfast is best served with maple syrup.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup half-and-half
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp rum extract
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 8 slices french bread
- 2 Tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a bowl whisk together the half-and-half, eggs, sugar, rum extract, vanilla extract, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger.
- Preheat your griddle or skillet over medium heat and add butter. Dip each piece of bread into the mixture on both sides and add to skillet in a single layer. You may have to do this in batches. Cook until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side. Serve.
Notes
Serve this dish with maple syrup and butter.
