"Suzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15th. She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years," Hay wrote in the statement, released on behalf of Somers' family.

Since news of her death broke over the weekend, scores of fans, as well as fellow actors and celebrities, have taken to social media to share tributes to the "Three's Company" and "Step by Step" actress.

Goldie Hawn — famous for movies like "Overboard," "Private Benjamin" and more — commented on the news on People's Instagram page.

"Sad so sad," she wrote.
Somers' "Step by Step" costar Patrick Duffy also responded to the news of Somers' passing by sharing an emotional statement with People.
"As with everyone who knew her, I was stunned yesterday by the news that my dear and deep friend Suzanne had passed," Duffy said. "For that brief moment it was unbelievable. But indeed she has passed. She beautifully passed through my life on this leg of her endless journey. My task now is to remain on the roadside as she continues on."
Duffy added that he will miss "the phone calls, the emails, the visits, and the meals and laughter" with Somers.
"But the dialogue of deep and thoughtful, and silly and frivolous continues," he says. "My conversations with her now will be held solely through my daily Buddhist practice."
Duffy also offered his condolences to Somers' husband, Alan, and son Bruce.
More tributes poured in from elsewhere on social media as well. Actress Fran Drescher wrote, "The heaviness of this past week's horrors just got worse with the loss of friend Suzanne Sommers [sic]. She was a sweet & talented woman, a wife and mother. Survivor and thriver for more than 2 decades."
Adam Carolla also penned a tribute to Somers on X (formerly Twitter).

"Devastated to hear about the passing of Suzanne Somers. A true icon and overall amazing human being. You will be greatly missed, my friend," he wrote.
