Gretchen Wieners Lives Again in Lacey Chabert's Hilarious 'Mean Girls' Ad for Walmart

'If you can't take your headphones out, you can't sit with us!' says Wieners, now a mom to a teenager.

Lacey Chabert and the "Mean Girls" cast are back for another Walmart Black Friday commercial. We love Chabert in Hallmark movies, but we missed her impeccable comedic timing, which truly shines as she slides effortlessly into perhaps her most famous role: Gretchen Wieners.

In the new ad, Gretchen is shown with her new group, the Wieners household, formed after her time at North Shore High School. She tells her daughter, "I am so getting you white gold hoop earrings for Hanukkah," to which her daughter responds, "White gold? It's giving 2004." Chabert interjects, "Irregardless, I don't think your grandfather, the inventor of Toaster Strudel, would be too pleased to hear you using that tone with me."

Later in the ad, Chabert tries to make "bop" happen while listening to "Milkshake": "Throwback Wednesday! I love this song. What a bop." Her daughter disapproves, saying, "Please don't say bop."

The commercial includes numerous references to iconic lines from the original 2004 film, with Amanda Seyfried's Karen Smith asking Chabert, "Do you ever wonder if the girl in the mirror can see you back?"

In a voiceover, Lindsay Lohan notes, "Even the deals couldn't keep Gretchen Wieners from cracking."

During a family dinner scene, Chabert scolds her daughter for wearing headphones at the table, saying, "If you can't take your headphones out, you can't sit with us!"

Last week, the cast of the 2004 "Mean Girls," including Lohan, Seyfried, Chabert, Daniel Franzese, and Rajiv Surendra, reunited for the first Walmart Black Friday marketing campaign. The ad portrayed Cady Heron as the school guidance counselor, Karen Smith as a weather reporter, and Gretchen Wieners as the mom of one of the new popular girls.

It's a big week for "Mean Girls" all around. A musical reboot of the film, also titled "Mean Girls," released its first trailer this week. The film is set to premiere on January 12, 2024.

Walmart plans to release new commercials featuring the cast every Wednesday leading up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday on November 27.
