H-E-B Temporarily Changes Store Hours Due to Incoming Tropical Storms

If it's not one thing, it's another! 2020 has been quite the year so far and we barely halfway over. First (and still) COVID-19, now two tropical storms that may affect Texas. According to recent weather reports, Hurricane Marco and Tropical Storm Laura are predicted to make landfall in Louisiana starting Sunday. To prepare, H-E-B stores will be altering some stores hours to 6 a.m. and close at 11 p.m until further notice.

The Houston-area stores below will have the following hours until further notice, according to the H-E-B Newsroom:

7 a.m. -10 p.m.

  • Angleton H-E-B
  • Columbus H-E-B
  • Alvin H-E-B
  • Livingston H-E-B
  • Santa Fe H-E-B

7 a.m. - 11 p.m.

  • Wharton H-E-B

Joe V's Smart Shop locations are open daily from 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Central Market stores are open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Mi Tienda locations are open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Along with temporarily changing the hours of operation, the grocery store has also implemented purchase limits on certain items including the following:

  • Brisket - Limit 2
  • Disinfecting & antibacterial sprays - 2 items
  • Disinfecting & antibacterial wipes - 2 items
  • Hydrogen peroxide - 2 items
  • Rubbing (Isopropyl) Alcohol/swabs - 2 items
  • First Aid and Cleaning Gloves - 2 items
  • Water multipacks - limit 4 (this only applies at stores in the Houston area.

Texas H-E-B Prepares for Storm with New Hours

The Texas-based grocery store shared in a statement:

H-E-B is working with suppliers and vendors to ensure that all stores have additional products available to meet increased customer demand. Staple items include water, bread, batteries, nonperishable foods, baby formula and ice. H-E-B holds special hurricane inventory in several warehouses across the state to be prepared with large quantities of food and water to support communities in need.
