"Nobody ever made rules to music," he says. "There's not a rule book to music. Rule breakers are some of the biggest artist of all time and the people that have done something that have never been done before. I truly believe that you can do whatever the f--- you want."
The trailer also features interviews with Hardy and his crew, possibly talking about the creation of the album and the unique path the artist is forging in country music.
"I hope that in five years, when I have three or four records out, that somebody will be like, 'If you wanna know who Hardy is, go listen to The Mockingbird and the Crow,'" he says. "It's an era of my life and my artistry that has perfectly encapsulated who I am."
Later in the trailer, he speaks of the goals he has for his career.
"I don't want to win a Grammy," he says. "I just want to leave a legacy of, like, 'That dude was an all timer.'"
