Last month, the "Total Eclipse of the Heart" singer was placed in an induced coma after emergency bowel surgery.
Today, June 15, Tyler's family and team revealed that she is "no longer in a coma." However, she "remains very unwell and in intensive care."
Doctors Believe Bonnie Tyler "Will Make a Good Recovery"
Tyler's shows through August are either canceled or postponed. However, her reps said they are "still hopeful" she will be well enough to perform later this year. She currently has dates scheduled between October and December.
"Although her condition is improving, it is a slow process. Her doctors remain confident that she will make a good recovery, but it is going to take time," the statement read.
"We apologize to all of Bonnie's fans and to our promoter partners for the disappointment that this will cause, but trust that you will understand and bear with us in these difficult circumstances. We hope to see you next year instead."
Since the news of the 75-year-old singer's health was revealed, fans have been understandably concerned.
"[We] want to tell you that she is aware of, and very grateful for, your good wishes," the statement concluded. "Bonnie's family continue to ask for privacy and promise that we will issue further updates as soon as there are significant developments to share."
What Happened to Bonnie Tyler?
Tyler was first admitted to the hospital on April 30. Initial reports after her surgery said everything had gone well and according to plan.
A news outlet in Portugal, where Tyler is hospitalized, then reported that the singer went into cardiac arrest when doctors attempted to bring her out of her coma. However, a statement from Tyler's representation called the report false.
The statement read, "Bonnie's family are very disappointed at the many lurid and untrue rumours now circulating in the media and would like to make it clear that Liberto Mealha does not represent them in any way whatsoever and is not in contact with them regarding Bonnie."
