Jennifer Garner Makes Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies Perfect for Fall

Jennifer Garner is one of the most lovable celebrities around, from her pretend cooking show to her Oklahoma farm life. Her mom's appearance on her "show" make it even more funny and adorable, as Pat Garner isn't one to hold back the sass. A few days ago, Jennifer Garner posted an Instagram video of the two of them making brown butter pumpkin oatmeal cookies, and it's as entertaining as ever.

Jennifer Garner's Pretend Cooking Show

Jennifer Garner began her pretend cooking show with Ina Garten's Honey White Bread recipe, and has since made lots of yummy recipes, from bread to chicken soup. Her pumpkiny oatmeal cookie recipe looks delicious, and we wouldn't want to learn it from anyone else.

In the video, Jennifer starts off with a few moments of singing, and then gets on with the recipe. She and Pat talk about why they chose this cookie flavor- because it's the next flavor for Once Upon a Farm.

As the caption of her Instagram post reads, "@onceuponafarm's special blend, Farmer Jen's Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookie (benefitting @savethechildren???), packs all of the flavor with none of the decadence. It is the organic, no sugar added, creamy, delicious, miracle of a bait and switch. Fresh fruits & veggies, there is nothing but happiness here."

Jennifer and her mom then discuss the strangeness of blotting pumpkins, which the recipe calls to do with a paper towel. They also remark that this is the first pumpkin ever grown on the family farm, which has been in the family since 1936. As they make the recipe, Jennifer pours the wet and dry ingredients into a large bowl while Pat mixes, saying "see what a good mixer I am, Jennifer?"

The cutest part is when she takes the cookie sheets out of the oven and gives the cookies a little talk, telling them to just sit for ten minutes and cool their jets before she'll put on some glaze. Here's the video to see for yourself!

Jennifer got this fall cookie recipe from @sallysbakeblog, saying in her caption "I like your recipes, Sally!" The cookies contain butter, rolled oats, flour, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, sugar, brown sugar, a room temp egg yolk, vanilla extract, pumpkin puree, powdered sugar and milk.

This delish recipe is full of yummy fall flavors, and could also be used as a breakfast cookie recipe. (Oatmeal makes anything a breakfast food, right?) Or, you can go full dessert and add some chocolate chips, which is what I do with any cookie recipe without them. Jennifer Garner knows how to pick a recipe!
