Abbott updated fans through his social media accounts on Tuesday (Feb. 28). "Unless a miracle occurs, this will be his last week here with us," Abbott wrote.
The band has canceled their dates from March 1-12 to give Abbott time to be with his father and family.
"I need to be by his side, holding my mother's hand through," Abbott wrote. "I know you all understand, and we truly appreciate the prayers and kind comments you have left."
His father suffered a stroke in early February. The effects only became evident a few days after the stroke. Since then his condition has worsened.
The Randy Rogers Band and other artists who are on the bill with JAB during the aforementioned dates will still perform. Ticket refunds will be available through the venues, but Josh asks you go out and support the other musicians on the bill and cheer them on.
Keep Josh's father and his family in your prayers today and send him some love.
