Justin Moore Honors Route 91 Survivors During Concert

During a recent concert, Justin Moore invited Route 91 survivors Ashley, Isaac and Joe to the stage. Before signing their banner that read "Survivor 10/01/17 Country Strong," Moore took a moment to reflect on how the Route 91 tragedy has impacted fans and artists in the country music community.

"That night changed every single artist in country music and it changed every single fan. And I'm so proud and so thankful that you guys are still coming out here and doing this and showing up," Moore said. "Most importantly, we're so thankful that you guys are here tonight safe and sound."

Moore invited the family to join him in singing his song "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away," which Moore dedicated to Route 91 victims and members of the military.

"You're in our thoughts and prayers today and every day #Route91... #VegasStrong," Moore wrote on his Facebook page.

Last week, Moore donated $30,000 from his family and crew to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School's MSD Fund, a charity honoring the victims and survivors of gun violence in schools. Moore performed at the first MSD Country Strong concert and dedicated "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away" to the 17 students and staff members who were killed in the Feb 14 shooting in Parkland, Fla.

Yesterday (Oct. 1) marked the one year anniversary of the Route 91 shooting which took the lives of 58 people and injured more than 800. Artists throughout the country music community shared messages of love, support and remembrance.

"A year ago today people were loving life. They were singing along. Families and friends. 58 lives were lost and thousands were injured and lives changed forever," Jake Owen wrote on Twitter. "You will always be in my heart and on my mind."

On Oct. 1, country radio stations in Nevada and across the nation went silent for 58 seconds in memory of those affected by the Route 91 shooting.
