"The Chemistry (Deluxe) album will be out September 22nd! Pre-order and pre-save now at the link in bio," Clarkson wrote Thursday (Aug. 17) on Instagram.
There'll be eight new songs, including the currently-streaming "Mine (Live from the Belasco)" and two already-available alternate tracks: "My Favorite Kind of High (David Guetta Remix)" and "Mine" (Ty Sunderland Remix)." There's four songs that aren't remixes, live versions or collaborations: "I Won't Give Up," "Did You Know," "Goodbye" and "Roses."
What stands out most, though, is an unreleased duet with Clarkson's oldest child, 9-year-old River Rose, titled "You Don't Make Me Cry."
Clarkson's also the mother of 7-year-old Remington. Clarkson's divorce from her kids' father, Brandon Blackstock, informs much of the content of the original Chemistry tracklist.
The inaugural American Idol winner got candid in June with Apple Music's Zane Lowe about how her children impacted her 2020 decision to end her marriage to Blackstock.
"We have two little kids watching us," Clarkson said. "And you don't want to set that example for, this is what they're going to set the bar for. I don't want my kids to be in this relationship. I want them to aim higher."
Per a June interview with Today, Clarkson gave Blackstock a heads up regarding the confessional nature of the album's lyrics.
"We did have a little text exchange about it," Clarkson said. "I don't even remember why or how it happened, but I was like, 'Hey, I didn't just diminish us down to one [thing].' You know what I'm saying? It's all in there, the ride. The beauty is in there, as well. Now, there's a lot of pain, but that's what happens, for all of us."
