"I am pro romance."

Kelly Clarkson defended herself on Instagram after comments she made about the NFL's coverage of the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce romance got interpreted by some as a slight at the couple.

When Saturday Night Live's Bowen Yang appeared recently on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson put over a recent sketch featuring Yang and mocking pro football broadcasters' fixation on Swift and Kelce as being "hilarious."

"It's not hilarious how it is literally taking over the NFL for people that like watching sports now," Clarkson added. "It's like you're watching 'Housewives' while you're watching."

On Saturday (Oct. 22), Clarkson turned to social media to address some of the more sensational headlines about her comments.

"Just a quick public service announcement everybody since this seems to be breaking news," she wrote. "Do not fall prey to clickbait, trash reporters twisting the facts again. I did not bash anyone's romance.

"I am pro romance. Yay romance. Did y'all even watch what I actually said on my show?," she continued. "I just said I want to watch football when I tune in to watch football. Seems an appropriate request. Okay, carry on, and GO COWBOYS!"

Travis Kelce made similar complaints about broadcasters' coverage of his love life via New Heights, his podcast with older brother and fellow NFL star Jason Kelce.

"Basketball has it figured out," Travis said. "They show them once or twice, but then they get back to the game. NFL is like, 'Oh my God, look at all these A-list celebrities at the game. Keep showing them, show them, show them.' You show them once, let them know they're there, and after touchdowns you get a little clip, but it can't be overboard with it. People are there to watch the game, right?"
