Kenny and Dolly visited The Today Show earlier this week to promote Rogers' upcoming farewell show. There, Dylan Dreyer picked the frequent duet partners' brains on their incoming last-ever performance together. Given the country stars' special friendship, Kathy and Hoda couldn't help but to ask them why they never fell for each other. Although they may have sang about "Real Love" together, that had nothing to do with their personal feelings for each other.
"First of all, she's hard to look at for me," Rogers joked.
"I'm not his type," Dolly quickly replied.
"I'm a believer that tension is better if you keep it than if you satisfy it," Rogers continued. "And then secondly, she said no to me."
"Nah," Parton replied, "You know what, we were almost like brother and sister. And it would almost be like incest. So we just never went there."
Rogers and Parton will hit the stage together for a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena tonight, Oct. 25. All In for the Gambler: Kenny Rogers' Farewell Concert Celebration marks the final night of Kenny's farewell tour after a 60-year career in country music. Chris Stapleton, Reba McEntire, Lady Antebellum, Wynonna, Little Big Town, Jamey Johnson, the Flaming Lips, Idina Menzel, Elle King, Alison Krauss are all set to appear.
