Kip Moore released the video for his single "Blonde" last Friday (Aug. 18), and it's a scathing condemnation of today's social media culture.

The song focuses on the selfie-obsessed Instagram queens we have all envied. "Don't sell yourself long girl, You must be confused/You ain't even Blonde girl, Or even true to your roots," the lyrics go.
Moore spoke to Rolling Stone about the song in June. "There are a few pros to social media, but, for the most part, it's pretty destructive to the soul," said Moore. "People seek all their validation through it and end up craving other people's lives. It's caused everyone to chase fame for the sole purpose of being famous or insta-famous."
"You can chase the lights, you can chase the fame/Used to be the captain of the cheer team, now you're just a never coming homecoming queen," Moore sings on the track.
"Every girl now is trying to start an Instagram page by showing how amazing their ass is," Moore told Noisey. "You'll sell your soul for whatever it takes to be famous nowadays."
"Blonde" is part of Moore's new album, Slowheart which is due to drop on Sept. 8. He announced last week that he would be hitting the road this fall on a tour to promote Slowheart.
