Mainstream country stars Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker plan on spending the late summer and early fall together on the road. The two acts co-headline the Summer Plays On Tour, July 19 to Aug. 6.

Aside from a pair of dates only featuring Lady Antebellum, tour stops will feature the co-headliners as well as up-and-coming opening act Russell Dickerson.
The tour begins in Canada for one night only before covering a wide range of major US cities, with a bulk of dates at seasonally appropriate outdoor pavilions and amphitheaters.
The pairing should make for a fun, carefree night out listening to live music. Lady Antebellum keeps country music's vocal group tradition alive for a new, pop-minded generation, while tour mate Darius Rucker's success in country should further overshadow any notions that he's just Hootie in a cowboy hat. Plus, who wouldn't want to sing along with "Wagon Wheel" with thousands of strangers?
"For us as a band, being out on the road together is where it all comes to life," says Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley in a press release. "Darius is one of our closest friends, and so we just feel really excited to get to share this tour and those memories on and off stage with him. There's no doubt that it's going to be a total blast, and we're thrilled to have Russell out with us too this summer. We're already brainstorming ways to shake things up and make each night all about just being in the moment."
