"Moments like today make me remember why I've wanted to do this, why I started doing this," Wilson said in the video shared in July by the hospital and the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. "It's about using your gift for the good. It makes me remember what life is truly all about, and I'm so honored and blessed to have had the opportunity to stop by here today. It's refilled my cup. These things make me want to do better and be better because of these kiddos."
The performance took place in Seacrest Studio, a 723-square foot space in the hospital funded by the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. Per the program's website, it "gives children and teens the opportunity to express their creative side through radio, television and new media. Children can sing along with special musical guests, get behind the mic for radio interviews or try their hand at producing a television program. Every child in the hospital can laugh, learn and share in the fun through the hospital's broadcast network."
The site adds that "studio programming broadcasts to patient rooms via closed-circuit televisions so that all patients can participate in the fun and learning. Patients can tune to Channel 46 to enjoy the broadcasts. Viewers even have the ability to request songs or ask questions of interviewees by calling 6-RYAN from any hospital phone."
Wilson recently wrapped up her run as opening support on Luke Combs' World Tour. She's also been in the news for the TikTok "song swap" in which she and Deana Carter both sang the same mashup of "Watermelon Moonshine" and "Strawberry Wine."
