Right before the Sept. 28 release date of her new album Wouldn't It Be Great, Loretta Lynn and Sony Legacy shared the single "Ain't No Time to Go" and its music video. The country-gospel song lists reasons for her lover to not go home to Heaven just yet, while its video flashes way back to the early days of an American music legend.

Lynn, age 86, offers spiritual insight into an ongoing career that's overcome a broken hip and a stroke in recent years. It suits an album featuring a soulful reinterpretation of "God Makes No Mistakes" from the Jack White-produced 2004 album Van Lear Rose.
Its music video shows Lynn and her band, featuring son Ernest Lynn, partaking in a front porch jam session and performing at the local square dance. The footage, shot on Lynn's Hurricane Mills property in Tennessee, points back to the deep country music roots and hard truths that'd inform the "Coal Miner's Daughter's" legendary ascent to Nashville stardom. It's sort of like watching Lynn and not Sissy Spacek maneuver those early years beyond Butcher Hollow.

As prior single "Ruby's Stool" proved, the follow up to 2016's Grammy-nominated Full Circle and the holiday album White Christmas Blue is anchored by new compositions that sound the way a Lynn song should in 2018. Lynn's daughter Patsy Lynn Russell co-produced the album with another legend's kid, John Carter Cash, at the Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, Tn.
