Hear Lori McKenna's Pensive New Song 'People Get Old'

As one of the songwriters of Carrie Underwood's current single "Cry Pretty" and Grammy winning hits for Tim McGraw and Little Big Town,  Lori McKenna is a creative force behind some of your favorite country superstars. She's also a solo artist, with 2016's The Bird and The Rifle delivering enough raw emotion and authenticity to net her equal standing among Americana's elite. On July 21, her solo statement broadens with her 11th album, The Tree (CN Records via Thirty Tigers).

The first single off The Tree, titled "People Get Old," lengthens country music's playlist of memorable songs about family. As time passes and circumstances change, we always have our loved ones--even if they get on your nerves sometimes. On the high and lonesome scale, it's somewhere in between a way less happy "Family is Family" by Kacey Musgraves and a moderately less depressing "Time Marches On" by Tracy Lawrence.

Like The Bird and The Rifle before it, The Tree was produced by none other than Dave Cobb at Nashville's historic RCA Studio A.
