Luke Bryan Issues Heartfelt Apology to Fans After Cancellation of Three Shows

"This is such a frustrating weekend," Bryan shared with fans.

Luke Bryan was forced to postpone or cancel a series of concert appearances last weekend after falling ill and experiencing vocal issues. The singer took to social media on Friday, Aug. 4, announcing that he has been battling a head cold for "the past couple of weeks."

"I have been spending those days warming up and singing and have been able to perform," he wrote in the post. "Today I have followed the same routine trying to not give up but I am just not getting better."

He then issued a regretful postponement of Friday night's show in Salt Lake City, Utah. The singer immediately shared the rescheduled date for the show.

"Today I have followed the same routine trying to not give up but I am just not getting better," he adds. "I truly can not give you the show I want to give so I am going to have to postpone tonight's show at USANA Amphitheatre to August 31, 2023. Thank you so much for understanding."

As the weekend continued, Bryan's condition did not improve. He also cancelled shows at Boise, Idaho's Ford Center on Saturday, Aug. 5 as well as his headlining slot at Watershed Festival in George, Wash. on Sunday, Aug. 6. In a note to fans, he said he could "barely talk," let alone sing.

"This is such a frustrating weekend," he wrote on Sunday. "'Shedders, I am sorry to let you down but I am not back singing - can hardly even talk still. This festival is one of the most beautiful places we perform and one of the most fun crowds always. I know my friends on the show will bring a great time for you! Show them all what you got. Love ya - Luke."

Bryan was replaced by Lainey Wilson at Watershed Festival on Sunday night. He told fans who planned to attend the show in Boise that they will receive details on refunds and rescheduling.
