Luke Bryan and his wife Caroline Boyer are one of country music's power couples, but it's taken a lot to build the strong foundation they have today.

Their story dates back to 1998 at Georgia Southern University where Bryan was a senior and Boyer a freshman. At a media event, Bryan detailed the night he met his future wife, explaining how it took all of eight seconds (love at first sight!) to realize he was going to marry Boyer.
"I had to drink a lot before I could go talk to her, but I did. Somehow I managed to ease over there and somewhat be charming. It was one of those situations for me, it was like, 'Who is that and how do I go talk to her?'"

Though Bryan was brave enough to talk to Caroline that night, his southern gentleman ways got the best of him when it came to making the first move. He was so worried about making Caroline uncomfortable, that she actually ended up kissing him first!
The college sweethearts sizzled out after Luke graduated. The separation gave Bryan enough time to figure out his calling in life and five and half years later the two reconnected again. Luke was playing a show back in Statesboro, Ga. and Boyer just happened to be in town. They ended up talking for a bit and began emailing back and forth. Boyer again made a bold move by inviting Bryan to her family Christmas party that year. The rest, Luke says, is history.
The couple married on Dec. 8, 2006, and welcomed their first son, Thomas Boyer Bryan on March 18, 2008. Their second child Tatum Christopher Bryan came into the world on August 11, 2010. Luke often documents his adventures with Bo and Tate on social media.
Along with the happy moments, Luke and Caroline's marriage has also seen its fair share of tragedy. In 2007, Bryan's sister Kelly died unexpectedly. Then in 2014 Kelly's husband Ben passed away leaving the couple's three children orphaned. Luke and Caroline are now raising the couple's youngest child, Tilden who was 13 years old when his father passed away. In 2017 the couple mourned another loss, that of Caroline's niece Sadie Brett.
Throughout tragedy and rising stardom, Luke and Caroline's marriage never waivers. Communication seems to be one of the keys. In an interview with the Huffington Post, Luke revealed one of the ways the couple stays in tune.
"We have coffee in the morning, just Caroline and me," he said. "It's my favorite time of the day; anytime we can have 30 minutes to talk, it's just great."
For the most part, Caroline stays out of the spotlight, but every now and then you'll find her at her husband's side as his biggest cheerleader for red carpet events such as the ACM awards and CMT music awards. You can even spot Caroline in Bryan's "Crash My Party" music video.
A fun fact about the couple is they both have tattoos to represent their love for each other. Caroline has an "L" tattooed on her ring finger while Luke has a "CB" tattooed in a more interesting place. A secret that Jason Aldean accidentally revealed during a radio interview.
"He was on tour with me when he got it (the tattoo)," Aldean says. "He was complaining about it [itching], and I was like, 'What is wrong with you?'" Aldean says that is when Bryan revealed the tattoo on his backside.
Bryan made his first attempt at expressing his love for Caroline through the song with "To The Moon And Back" off of his Kill The Lights album. After all this time, Bryan's wife still makes him nervous. The country singer says he had serious jitters the first time singing the song to her.
Throughout all the ups and downs Luke and Caroline's marriage remains intact and their love for each other is evident. It truly is one their fans consider to be relationship goals.
