The nonprofit organization provides access to music education programs for young people across the Lone Star State. According to the Dallas Observer, Morris herself participated in a songwriting camp organized by the group when she was a teen.
"I like to represent Texas in any way, shape or form that I can, so this is a huge honor," Morris said in a video interview about the position.
"Making music dreams come true is what we at TMP are all about, and Maren's story is just another in a long line of continued music education success stories," a statement from the organization reads. "We can't wait to see what more music Maren brings us and the help she can bring in spreading the word on saving the arts in Texas."
