Inside Margaritaville Resort's First Texas Location

Get ready to take a trip, check-in, and earn your license to chill in Margaritaville, Texans on the shores of Lake Conroe. The Lone Star State now has its own Jimmy Buffett-themed Margaritaville Resort in Montgomery, Texas, just 55 miles north of Houston, 140 miles east of Austin, and 223 miles northeast of San Antonio. The new getaway location is known as Margaritaville Lake Resort Lake Conroe and is now officially open. The resort has 360 guest rooms and luxury suites, an 18-hole golf course, a spa, a fitness center, a large outdoor meeting space, and tennis courts. It also has a water park with outdoor pools and a lazy river. Everyone in the family will enjoy mini-golf, boating, and waterslides; the adults will enjoy the pool bar and brunch. The Woodlands property's existing restaurants have been transformed into the LandShark Bar & Grill and 5 o'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill.

The property is owned by Margaritaville Holdings, the Atlanta, Georgia-based Songy Highroads, and the Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based The Wampold Cos.

Water skiing, kneeboarding, tubing, and floating are all possible on the lake! Enjoy the water from within or from your balcony when you sip your morning coffee. If you're gunshy about lake water, no worries. The resort pools are for everyone!

A 300-acre Margaritaville Resort opened in Kissimmee, Florida in 2019. There are currently 12 Margaritaville Resorts around the world, including one in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Gatlinburg, Tenn., Bossier City, La., and Guanacaste, Costa Rica. A Margaritaville Resort is also in the works for New York City. A Margaritaville Hotel opened in Nashville, Tenn. in 2019.

Jimmy Buffett released his song "Margaritaville" in 1977. The song about a man "wasting away" at a beach resort was a defining hit for the singer, spawning a variety of commercial products and business ventures.
