It's one of pop culture's most unlikely friendships: the bond between Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg. But how did the television personality and rapper even meet in the first place? You may know that they're buddies now, but how did the unlikely duo of Martha and Snoop come to be? The story is pretty interesting.

How Did They Meet?
According to Oprah Magazine, the former talk show host and "Gin and Juice" singer met for the first time when Snoop was a guest on her daytime television program The Martha Stewart Show in 2008. They made mashed potatoes together!
The two became closer friends after the performer appeared on the show again in 2009, this time to make brownies, and the rest is history. During a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" in 2014, Martha said she wished she was "closer" with the rapper from California. Aw.
Continuing Friendship
Thankfully, the businesswoman got her wish! She and Snoop Dogg both ended up at the Comedy Central roast of Justin Bieber, and Snoop later said that she "stole the show," Oprah Magazine noted.
"She was the funniest roaster that night. In that moment, I knew I wanted to be alongside this lady for the rest of my life," Snoop said. Too cute!
Before long, the two BFF's became co-hosts of a half-hour cooking show on VH1 in 2016. It has since aired a couple of seasons and even earned a 2017 Emmy nomination. Celebrity guests like Matthew McConaughey, RuPaul, Usher, Wiz Khalifa, Ashley Graham, and more have all appeared on the series.
Then, in 2018, Snoop released "From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg's Kitchen," a cookbook. Not something his fans may have expected of the rapper before he and Martha got so buddy-buddy thanks to their appearances together and their TV show!
It's clear that these two are genuinely friends, and have enjoyed each other's company right from the start. "I like his laid-back energy," Martha said of Snoop on the Today show back in 2019. "I like his outspokenness. I like his sense of timing."
Snoop added, "I love Martha, like, I love her for real." Prior to that, he said of his friend during an interview with Rolling Stone, "I've never met anyone like Martha Stewart...When we come together, it's a natural combination of love, peace, and harmony."
Doesn't everyone want a friendship like theirs?
