Matthew Ramsey, the lead singer and bandmate of Trevor Rosen (guitar, keyboards), Whit Sellers (drums), Geoff Sprung (bass guitar) and Brad Tursi (guitar), ups the country music act's likability once you delve into his family story with his wife, Sara Dudley, and their two daughters.

Meet Matt Ramsey (But Not That Matt Ramsey)

Ramsey was born on October 21, 1977 in Buchanan, Virginia.

A guitarist since age 14, he began his stay in Nashville as a songwriter for the stars, co-writing The Band Perry's "Chainsaw," Craig Morgan's "Wake Up Lovin' You," Dierks Bentley's "Say You Do," Sam Hunt's "Make You Miss Me" and Kenny Chesney's "Save It for a Rainy Day."

Old Dominion's Virginia to Tennessee success story first hit its stride in 2015 when "Break Up With Him" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. The band's since released the hit songs "Song For Another Time," "No Such Thing as a Broken Heart," "Written in the Sand," "Hotel Key" and "Make It Sweet."

Earlier in his career, Matt Ramsey started going by Matthew Ramsey professionally to cut down on confusion (and embarrassing Google image search histories) for those unaware that the porn star Peter North sometimes goes by Matt Ramsey.

Daughters Janie and Naomi

Ramsey and Dudley have two daughters: Janie (born July 10, 2006) and Naomi (born May 16, 2009).

In a 2018 interview with People, Ramsey said that juggling a busy touring schedule with fatherhood keeps him grounded.

"I get to come home and drop the kids off at school and stuff like that," he said. "It's quite a switch! You get off the stage and it's like 'Ahh,' and then you come home and you're like, 'I gotta take out the trash."

After the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic halted touring, Ramsey's extra time at home with his daughters led to a co-write with Naomi. Ramsey explained the "shockingly good" quarantine song in an interview with Bobby Bones.

Sara, His Wife

Sara's also a native of Botetourt County, Virginia. She runs the Ramsey Foundation, a nonprofit that aids rural communities, with her husband.

Some sources identify Sara as an educator, while others list her as a former clinical project manager with a biology degree from the University of Virginia.
