You may be familiar with some mayonnaise hacks, where you use mayonnaise in chocolate cake or on the outside of grilled cheese sandwiches, but there's another way to use the creamy condiment: mayonnaise rolls. That's right, you can use mayo to make fast and tasty dinner rolls. Technically, this bread recipe is a little closer to a quick bread than a yeast roll, because it takes all of five minutes prep time to mix the dough and there's no waiting for this bread to rise.

How to Make Mayonnaise Rolls
It's also the perfect roll recipe for rich-tasting dinner rolls if you're running low on a few ingredients like eggs and butter. All you need is two cups self-rising flour, four tablespoons mayonnaise (and yes, you can use a spread like Miracle Whip instead), a cup milk and a teaspoon sugar. Be sure to use self-rising flour instead of all-purpose flour in this recipe. If you like, you can stir in some shredded cheddar (because cheese makes everything better).

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and butter or grease a muffin pan. Mix all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl; stir until just combined. Fill each cup in the muffin pan about 2/3 of the way full. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown. If you like your mayonnaise rolls more like traditional pull-apart bread, you can also spoon the dough into 12 balls in a 9-inch cake pan and bake that way. The total time baking should be about the same.
These delicious mayonnaise rolls are excellent to eat while they're still warm, but they're also great to take for potlucks. And you can also toast the leftovers the next morning for a treat. They're perfect with jam and butter, or a slice of ham and cheese for a breakfast sandwich.
