If you loved seeing Midland cover the classic trucker anthem "East Bound and Down" on the CMA awards, you'll be glad to know the Texas-based trio has released a studio version of the 1977 Jerry Reed song.

Midland played the tune at the CMAs in honor of the late Burt Reynolds, who passed away earlier this year. The song, written by Reed and Dick Feller, was written and recorded for the soundtrack to the timeless Reynolds film "Smokey and the Bandit," which also starred Reed as the Bandit's pal Cledus "Snowman" Snow.
The trio remains faithful to Reed's version, chugging along at breakneck speed like truckers on the run from Buford T. Justice.
