Miranda Lambert Lands Special Role in Upcoming Comedy Film

Miranda Lambert is dipping her toes into the film industry with her latest project.

According to Deadline, the country star is now the executive music producer for music video producer Trey Fanjoy's upcoming film, Something In The Water. The movie is said to be set in the heartland and is defined as "Bridesmaids meets Steel Magnolias."

The comedy follows what happens when five women who challenge their partners to a bass fishing tournament. Dirty 30 star Grace Helbig has signed on for the film's lead role. Additional details about the film will be released in the coming weeks.

Lambert and Fanjoy have previously collaborated on her music videos for "The House that Built Me" and "Kerosene," among others.

Lambert has a busy 2017 ahead of her. The next few months are packed with festival appearances, including a headlining slot at this year's CMA Fest in Nashville.
