Yeh is from Glenview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Born to parents Jody Yeh and John Bruce Yeh, she eventually moved out of the midwest to New York City to attend Juilliard for percussion. Along with majoring in percussion, Yeh was the editorial assistant and writer at The Juilliard Journal, a precursor to her eventual blogging career.
My Name is Yeh
Molly Yeh had always journaled growing up, and in 2009 she turned this into her blog, My Name is Yeh. She's also a published cookbook author, as she published her first book, Molly on the Range: Recipes and Stories from An Unlikely Life on a Farm in 2016. This won the Judges' Choice IACP Cookbook Award the following year.
Then, in 2018, Yeh's success entered a new arena, when she began hosting a cooking show on Food Network called Girl Meets Farm. The 9th season of this launched just a few days ago! In 2018 she also co-hosted a podcast about young classical musicians, which she had been featured on as a teenager.
While at Juilliard, Food Network star Molly Yeh met fellow music major Nick Hagen, a fifth-generation farmer. The two eventually tied the knot and moved to the Minnesota-North Dakota region to live on her husband Nick Hagen's beet farm.
Molly Yeh Expecting!
In 2019, Yeh and her husband gave birth to their first child, Bernadette Rosemary Yeh Hagen, named after her husband's great-great-grandfather Bernt and her own great-great grandfather, Bernard. Molly, Nick and "Bernie" are the cutest little family, but the celebrity chef just revealed that one more will be joining the pack!
On Instagram, Molly posted a pic of babka along with her adorable baby bump. Her caption says "well i was gonna post a sonogram pic but this babka cross section looked just as cool and is probably just as accurate?? which is me telling you that... we've got another human on the way!!! due february! ?????????? #babkaintheoven#iwantasalamisandwich (and p.s. baby bump is debuting this weekend on the season 9 #girlmeetsfarm premiere!!!! see u sunday 11a/10c on @foodnetwork!)"
