Morgan Evans and Kelsea Ballerini Explore Hawaii in 'Day Drunk' Music Video

Spouses Morgan Evans and Kelsea Ballerini share footage from a Hawaiian getaway in the brand new music video for Evans' "Day Drunk." Shots of the pair hanging around the sort of real places we'll hopefully see in that Magnum P.I. reboot adds the charm of young love to an already fun drinking song.

The country music power couple shot and directed it themselves with a GoPro, capturing a lot of their fans' summer getaway goals. It looks like Kenny Chesney or Jimmy Buffett sound, which is a complement for a pair of pop-country upstarts. Ballerini married the Australian-born "Kiss Somebody" singer back in December 2017, so those newlywed vibes, and assumed wedding band tan lines, aren't put-on.

The song is a cut from Evans' upcoming debut full-length album on Warner Music Nashville. His first full-length since 2014 should arrive this fall, which would make for a heck of an early anniversary gift.

Despite its title, its simple yet catchy chorus and its party-pop vibe, Evans insists that the song represents more than starting vacation mornings with a cold brew or getting to let loose in a tropical paradise.

"I've never been the drinking song guy, but this song came from a real place and is really more about spending a day with your person than it is about just getting drunk," says Evans in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "There's a reason why I love it so much and feel like I can sing it."

Per Evans' quote, the infectious "Who Cares?" chant in the chorus applies to getting lost emotionally while spending time with a loved one and not the sort of hedonistic behavior we all associate with island retreats.

The brand new music video backs up this notion that the pop-country couple stays close once the days-long beach party ends.
